Following the retirement of Professor Rainer Grün, there is an opportunity to lead this remarkable Research Centre.  The Director contributes significantly to the University's research profile by providing leadership and management of ARCHE as well as being responsible for the development and achievements of the Centre.

 

The new Director is expected to be of high international standing and to develop a long-term vision for ARCHE, with the goal of establishing a Centre of Excellence for Human Evolution. While the candidate is expected to be an international research leader in any of ARCHE's themes, preference will be given to candidates with expertise in genomics or geochronology applied to human evolution and with experience in managing diverse interdisciplinary teams.

 

The Director will also have the capacity to expand the Centre's existing national and international networks and the ability to manage and develop the Centre's collaborative partnerships within Griffith University and with external partners. This position will suit an academic leader who possesses strong visionary, strategic and collegial management skills, with an established research profile in one or more of the Centre’s themes. 

 

The appointee will also have outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong and productive relationships with all stakeholders.
