The site of Arcy-sur-Cure in Burgundy is characterized by the diversity and the great quantity of Palaeolithic occupations in caves or rockshelters. Excavations by Abbé Parat and Leroi-Gourhan and most recently by Dominique Baffier and Michel Girard’s teams have shown the importance of the Upper Palaeolithic presence and particularly, the singularity of parietal art discovered in two caves, "la Grande grotte" and "la grotte du Cheval". While engravings of mammoths and horses from the latter have been fully studied, that is not the case for the lithic industry which presents some aspects that are quite rare in comparison with other lithic artefacts found in different caves at Arcy. New hypotheses concerning the presence and the dating of these artefacts are proposed.
