The Summer School offers an opportunity to acquire practical archaeological skills (fieldwork and laboratories) in combination with theory (lectures) and an insight into the landscape and its cultural and natural resources (study visits).
The daily routine will consist of a combination of practical training in the form of archaeological excavations (morning) and associated laboratory work and theoretical learning in the form of lectures (afternoon). The lectures cover prehistoric and protohistoric materials and cultures, geology, anthropology, palaeontology, palaeoecology, methodology and rock art. Laboratories will be strongly focused in experimental archaeology.
