At the Institute Catala de Paleoecologia Humana i Evolució Social (IPHES), we are looking for a postdoc, who would like to apply for a Marie Sklodowska-Curie IF fellowship to work in Palaeolithic Human-Carnivore Interactions focused on archaeological spatial analysis in different Middle Palaeolithic sites.

The candidate will analyse micro-spatial patterns of extant wild carnivores (mainly bears, foxes and badgers) to compare those with karstic Middle Palaeolithic assemblages.

The candidate should be familiar with geostatistical methods and specific tools associated.

The main aim is to analyse the micro-spatial pattern dispersions generated by different carnivores on anthropogenic assemblages. Therefore, the job have two main parts: 1) the analysis of data obtained from the observations of extant wild carnivores and, 2) the application of this analysis to several Middle Palaeolithic assemblages.

This project will be developed under the supervision of Dr. Jordi Rosell Ardèvol, in accordance to MSCA Actions, analysing a specific data-set of wild carnivores current observations (Neo-Taphonomic data) to compare them with micro-spatial patterns of archaeological assemblages in order to lead some publications of her/his work in peer-reviewed journals.
