We are building upon our strengths by appointing a talented and ambitious Assistant Professor in the field of Human Bioarchaeology and Forensic Science. Expanding our current research and teaching strengths in Bioarchaeology, the new post holder will develop world-class research and teaching in the field of Human Bioarchaeology and cognate Forensic Sciences. We particularly welcome applications from those with case-work experience in international forensic contexts.

 

The successful candidate will pursue research that is world leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour, commensurate with the Department of Archaeology’s continuing emphasis on international excellence, and demonstrated by outstanding publications. They will bring experience and ambition in terms of seeking out national and international funding opportunities and develop research impact beyond the Institution. They will also develop and pursue international research collaborations to further enhance the Department’s world reputation in Human Bioarchaeology and Forensic Science. They will develop our vibrant research postgraduate community, by attracting students of exceptional calibre from Britain and abroad to study with us at Durham.
