Adult stature is one of the most prominent physical characteristics of humans and has attracted scholarly attention since antiquity. As it is not only determined by genetic potential, but also modified by environmental influences, human stature is the object of research in various disciplines, including auxology, physical and physiological anthropology, archaeoanthropology, genetics and archaeogenetics, sociology, economics, history and archaeology.

This archaeological workshop aims to bring together researchers with various backgrounds on these topics with a focus on Holocene developments in the near East and Europe and their possible outcomes until today.
