The International Experimental Archaeology Conference encourages the exchange and sharing of new work in experimental archaeology. It facilitates the discussion of recent developments within the ever-growing community of experimental archaeologists, archaeologists, primitive technologists, open-air museum affiliates, and interpreters.
Particular focus on:
- The scope of experimental archaeology, distinguishing between full experiments, pilot experiments, pre-experiments, experiential activities, public demonstrations and hobby projects.
- Projects which strongly relate to the archaeological record (original sources and end results)
- Improving ways of promoting experimental archaeology in academic research.
- How to communicate experiments to the academic community and to the public.
