The purpose of this conference is to re-consider the use of the term "stress" in human remains research and to start a dialogue regarding how to better define what we mean when we use "stress" in archaeology.

 

To this aim, the conference has a twofold agenda:
1) Dental anthropology perspective – tooth malformations, defects, and pathology;
2) Non-specific indicators of disease in paleopathology.
